The Minara Chamber of Commerce announces the call for nominations for the Minara Business Awards 2023. The Minara Chamber of Commerce has today announced the opening of nominations for the annual Minara Business Awards. The prestigious Awards, now in its 12th year, was initiated by the Chamber to recognise and acknowledge the excellence and successes of the South African Muslim Community and its positive contributions to economic and social growth of South Africa. The awards bring focus to Muslim-owned Businesses, Business Leaders, Professionals and Community Builders who have demonstrated exceptional success.
The Minara Business Awards 2023 is now open for nominations in the following categories
Business Entity of the Year
Businessperson of the Year
Businesswoman of the Year
Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Professional Achiever of the Year
Community Builder of the Year
Vice President of Minara and Chair of the Awards Committee
“After consideration and feedback from our members, this year we have introduced a change to the Business Entity Category. The Business Entity Award will now feature three categories: Large Business, Medium Business, and Small Start-Up Business.” Nominations to the Awards are open to any South African Muslim Business, Businessperson and Professional. Any person may nominate themselves or be nominated by any other person.

“We encourage all those in Business, profession or community work to enter the awards. If you know of someone deserving, nominate them for
the awards” said sister Fawzia. The nominees are evaluated by an independent adjudication panel who takes into consideration the nominees’ accomplishments, growth and contribution to society as a whole. The past year Awards have seen many notable businesses and individuals recognised for their successes and contributions. The annual event is attended by +450 guests, finalists, Government, community and non-governmental organisation representatives, religious and cultural leaders, foreign diplomats and chief guests from chambers of commerce and institutions are amongst the guest list of key decision makers and CEO’s. The winners of Annual Minara Chamber Business Awards 2023 will be announced at the Awards dinner taking place at the Elangeni Hotel in Durban on 27th October 2023
