A judge, a young engineer, the CEO of a top South African company, a nurse, a self-made businessman and a late anti-apartheid activist – these were the individuals recognised by the Minara Chamber of Commerce at its sixth annual Minara Recognition Awards held at the City Hall on Friday.
Minara president Ebrahim Patel revealed that a wide range of nominations were received from the public for the various award categories, making the judges’ decision difficult. “The adjudication committee looks not only at the individual success but also at the social impact of the individual and their commitment to community upliftment.”
The Minara Chamber of Commerce announced this morning the winners of the Minara Entrepreneur 2015 Competition at the Minara Conference Room in Sherwood, Durban.
Minara Chamber, together with five other Chambers in KZN, have partnered with the KZN Business Chambers Council (KBCC) and the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs to conduct the Entrepreneur 2015 Competition in KZN.
