Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN), invites you to submit your application to participate and showcase your products at the FOOD & HOSPITALITY OMAN 2019.

FOOD & HOSPITALITY OMAN 2019 takes place from the 14th to the 16th October 2019 in Oman and is an international trade exhibition which is the largest dedicated food and hospitality show in Oman. This event will be showcasing Food & Drinks, Confectionery, Dairy products, Ingredients, Gourmet & Healthy Foods, Tea and Coffee products, in addition to Catering Equipment’s, Restaurant and Café and Processing and Packaging, under one roof. Oman is emerging as one of the fastest growing markets for international suppliers to the foodservice industry. It is heavily reliant on imports as its major sources of food, which make up 25 % of the country’s total imports. Food and livestock are among the items that Oman imports from the UAE, Japan, the UK and the USA – the country’s main source of imports.

Companies are encouraged to apply for either EMIA individual funding or TIKZN Financial Support.

The Department of Transport plans to introduce a number of regulatory changes in an effort to cut down on South Africa’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Speaking at the Motorex conference in Sun City minister of Transport, Blade Nzimande, said that the transport sector is the most rapidly growing source of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) in the country, and the second most significant source of GHG emissions overall.

“This is partly attributed to the high-energy intensity in the sector, which relies on imported fossil-based oil, and locally-produced synthetic fuels,” he said.

“The transport sector accounts for 10.8% of greenhouse gas emissions in South Africa, with road transport responsible for 91.2%.
