Newsflash: Minara Chamber of Commerce
In an initiative to promote global trade and expand business opportunities Minara Chamber of Commerce hosted virtual meetings with Foreign Embassies in South Africa to discuss sectors of opportunities for export and import with the respective embassies.
Our first meeting for today was with the Ambassador of Turkey H.E. Ms. Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, whilst a successful meeting was held we were informed that Ambassador’s term has concluded and will be returning to Turkey once bureautic procedures are completed to welcome the new Ambassador.
Ambassador Ulgen thanked the Chamber for their several efficient programmes and efforts in collaboration with the Embassy to mutually promote Turkey and South Africa trade and Tourism, in addition requested the same support be provided to Her Excellency’s successor. Good news for the Tourism industry is that the Ministry of Health in Turkey is working continuously in rolling out their vaccine programme that will lift the limitations to South Africans tourists that are due to the new variant of the virus.
Minara Chamber President , Mr Solly Suleman extended good wishes to the Honorable Ambassador and assured of the Chamber’s support to the Embassy to create opportunities that will benefit economic ties between both countries and iterated that with virtual platforms now a part of operations businesses will have easier access to meeting suppliers and buyers globally.
The Ambassador further indicated that the Embassy support structure has also been increased to provide better services in the Country. Promising business opportunities and investment opportunities were mention by Trade Counsellor Ms Dermat Isil Karakurt.
